All voices matter.
Come hungry!
We’re going to literally eat our writing prompts to strengthen visual, textural, scent and flavour descriptive writing. Led by our very own Colleen, former Canadian Living food editor, PLUS our in-person guest, Jasmine Mangalaseril, is a food writer, culinary historian, restaurant critic and on-air food columnist for CBC Radio. This workshop is suitable for fiction, memoir, recipe writers or anyone wanting to work on sensory writing skills. Food-loving teens and adults welcome!
“All flourishing is mutual”
This workshop is inspired by The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Writing exercises plus a hands-on lesson with guest Leigh Bird from Free Bird Nature School will ground writers in the concepts of reciprocity, communal growth, cultivating our natural gifts and sharing them so all may flourish. (Age 18+)
Unfiltered
Let’s greet the summer solstice (and swimsuit season) with abundant appreciation for our bodies. We’ll write to a few bodyful prompts, plus try our hands at “hermit crab” essays, i.e., write on a topic through the form of a real estate ad, an instruction manual, a recipe, etc.(Age 18+)
No expiry date
Gift a partial or entire writing workshop to the writers in your life. They’ll receive a code to use for any future workshop. A hungry cat will thank you, too.
